During the month of July and August, you will find that most Parisians take their vacations. The tourist season is in high gear and the businesses that cater to tourism will be open. Springtime in Paris, generally April, May, and June is a beautiful time of the year to visit. The temperatures are moderate. Fall which extends from September through November is another good time to visit.

In the other regions of France, you can find interesting places to visit such as the wine producing areas or the beaches along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coast lines. If you want to see interesting architecture and visit picturesque villages, you can rent a car and drive along the countryside. Each region has its own strong cultural and historic differences.

France is a republic in Western Europe and is referred to as Metropolitan France because it has regions on other continents. The country's landscape is varied, ranging from coastal plains and fertile valleys to forests and mountains. A visit to France can be planned around any type of interest: water sports, sunbathing, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, cycling, or educational and cultural pursuits.

There are a number of events that take place in France during the year. You may want to arrange your vacation around one of these events. You may be able to find bargain airfares if you travel in the winter. Airfares are more expensive in spring and cost even more during the summer months.
